The Caledonian Society of New Orleans has been in existence since 1972 and is dedicated to raising awareness of all things Scottish. As a family oriented organization, it gets involved in different fund raising events, sponsorships and highland games, while attempting to help make people understand the impact Scotland has had on the world. The group hosts regular meetings and get togethers where various topics are discussed ranging from music, geology, history, castles and – of course – tartans and kilts.
The Caledonian Society of New Orleans understands how important Ronald McDonald House Charities is to children and their families in the area and beyond. The Scots have always stood behind noble causes, and this one is the noblest! We believe family is important and Ronald McDonald House allows families to stay together through tough times.
We could say that you should vote for us because we have an actual Scotsman on our team. We could also say that you should vote for us because wearing kilts is normal to us. However, we really want to see as much funds raised as possible for this cause. The real heroes aren’t the ones in kilts, it’s the people who make RMHC continue to operate each year.
